Our story

The concept of terroir (/terˈwär/) — the unique essence of a place, its soil, topography, and climate, that shapes the flavor of its wines — is at the heart of Bar Terroir. Just as terroir defines wine, this restaurant embodies the rich histories, environments, and culinary inspirations that brought it to life.

Bar Terroir is a homage to French cuisine, crafted by a team of devoted francophiles with collective experience from acclaimed establishments such as Bresca, Eleven Madison Park, Corton, Le Chateaubriand, and Jont. Led by Chef minds Proechel, Bonsack, and McKee, our menu reflects their deep roots in classic French cooking, enriched by innovative technique and locally-sourced ingredients.

Nestled on Henderson Ave in South Tampa, our petite bistro invites you to savor an extensive wine list and thoughtfully crafted cocktails. With a cozy dining room, bar seating, and a welcoming al fresco area, Bar Terroir creates an intimate, lively atmosphere, perfect for indulging in French flavors. Similarly to terroir’s impact on wine, our culinary team's formative background, our location and our collective love for embracing Tampa’s culinary climate is what you’ll find on every table.

As the first major restaurant from Tastes Pretty Good, Bar Terroir is not just a dining destination but an embodiment of the stories, experiences, and flavors that inspire us every day.
